Host Families

The families we select live near the school or within 10-30 minutes by public transport. This option is especially recommended for open-minded participants, wishing to live and experience Barcelona, as if they had their own family and flat in the city.

General description

As there is no such thing as a typical Spanish family, you can expect a family to be a young couple, with or without children, a single young professional, or older couples with adult children who no longer live at home.

In your flat you will have:

• FACILITIES: An individual room, a desk or space available for you to study, a door key to let yourself in and out as you please.
• CATERING: You can choose B&B, Half-Board or Full-Board. Please note that the family is not obliged to cook all meals for you, if the family cannot be at home for breakfast, lunch or dinner, you will be able to cook for yourself. These arrangements, as well as their routines and timetables, will be discussed directly with your host family.
• OTHER SERVICES: The family will take care of your laundry. Bed linen and towels will be changed once weekly.

You can expect to be treated as a guest by your host family. However, families cannot host persons who are of the same nationality or speaking the same language as another participant, unless you specifically require it.
