About Barcelona

Barcelona, a cultural city that you fall in love with.

Because of its location, Barcelona offers:

  • the Mediterranean Sea and the mountains
  • A very active cultural and artistic life; museums such as the Picasso and Miró; opera; theatre; exhibitions; art galleries; international fairs; festivals; concerts; and performances in jazz, flamenco, classical music; modern art; design; architecture… to name a few.
  • Enchanting ancient neighbourhoods with interesting architecture (Ramblas, Gothic Quarters, Park Güell, Gracia, Eixample).
  • A vast variety of cafés and restaurants
Barcelona definitively offers an amazing variety of outdoor activities that will leave you breathless!

The city has so much to offer that it is impossible to see and do it all in a month. You will want to return again and again to this hypnotizing city that keeps you wanting more.

Selected as an Olympic city in 1992 and the Cultural Forum in 2004, Barcelona has become a well-known city for tourists, businessmen and residents alike.

What people are saying about Barcelona:

Woody Allen: "I have an idea for a movie that will take place in Barcelona as if it was New York. I believe it would be more enchanting and more interesting filming it in Barcelona, because I have never worked [there] I love [the] city. It appears to me to be very interesting … sophisticated, cosmopolitan and very civilized. I am sincerely fascinated by the art and architecture of this city."

Important Note:

In Barcelona, as well as in the rest of Spain, lunch and dinner are later than in the rest of Europe: Breakfast usually consists of a very light meal very early in the morning (7-8 am) and then usually a sandwich at mid-morning (10-11 am). Lunch is the biggest meal of the day consisting of two courses and dessert and is eaten between 2 and 4 pm. Dinner is a lighter meal that is eaten between 9 and 11 pm. Nightlife is active until 3 am in the bars and until 5 am in the discos; so if you plan an all-nighter, then we recommend a big dinner.
